People often ask me or wonder how I attribute glass items to Ruckl, it is not as complicated as it sounds when you have the glass in hand. In fact attributions done with pictures is useful, but I feel it is a secondary approach, once you have a solid foundation based on glass shape, fabrication and decors felt, seen, and examined in hand.
What's amazing? How the decors vary in the same glass colors, because they are hand applied, so each is unique, yet the group in image 4, shows how they still match. Some colors overlap, so this creates more shades, when heated at the furnace, before the final glossy clear glass is applied. Some flakes are tiny, some are large, it is like an artist with six tubes of paint, who create several paintings with them in the Jackson Pollock style.
These Ruckl spatter glass pieces, come in various decors, some also share several shapes. I find that each multi spatter glass piece has a prominent color, such as the red glass pieces here, you will find prominent yellow, orange, green, blue, white and pink as well. The most common is orange.
My new red spatter bowl, very simple shape, not marked, measures 6.75 inches by 3.5 inches.
Thank you for the loves CW members, always much appreciated.
