For a while I've been debating who made this vase and am now appealing to the wider CW fraternity for help.
Its 29 cm (11.5'') tall with a polished pontil and fire polished rim. There are 12 ribs and a fine wavy pattern of silver-yellow threads that have been combed. The vase has been optically mould blown with a pressed bulbous body and slightly retracted mouth. Despite my best efforts an attribution has proven elusive ! There are similarities to Loetz PG 6893 and the wave pattern also bears a resemblance to that found on Kralik's 'Opal-Wave' but not enough to convince me. Any help much appreciated.
My best guess - and it is just that - on shape, specifically that broad foot; Rindskopf
Thanks philmac51 for the suggestion.
What a beautiful and delicate decor. It really does have a Loetz-like feel. The delicacy of it, and the perfectly ground pontil really point that way for me....
Similar in shape to PN 1-7471.
Having re-examined both the rim and pontil (especially) against known Rindskopf examples I'm pretty sure it wasn't made by that company. Have edited to include 'Loetz' in the title to generate more interest !
