I do not imagine many of these survived, promoting an industry and not retail. However, dare I say, this is unquestionably as spectacular an example you will ever find of Hippie / Psychedelic era graphic design. This 1971 Psychedelic Shell Agricultural Calendar was printed by Doric Lithographic of San Francisco (well, duh) in 1970. The illustrations are by artist Lowell Herrero (1921- 2015). Undervalued and under appreciated in my mind, a fantastic & colorful artifact of the times.

January's elephant looks none too happy--probably incensed by the head dress.
But I personally love it! Plus love his groovy stripes!
