"De planes, de planes! De Hubley Planes!" Picked up 2 more Flying Circus aircraft. One is another #495 "navy" plane that I have shared before in different color combos. I got it at a fair price, it has the prop, canopy and pretty good paint. I swapped the better upper fuselage, landing gear, cockpit and springs from my older plane with it. This brought it up to Hubley collecting optimum condition, 98% good original paint, no breaks, original parts and stickers. The other one us in a solid good condition still, I've robbed it of its prop and canopy after the photo shoot. . I needed another prop and canopy for my blue/silver #495. It would have cost me $44 from The Tin Toy Co. to get a replacement prop and canopy. I got this whole plane with prop and canopy for $49.00!! Overall it is also an upgrade of my other #495, you can see the difference in condition of the yellow sections in the last photo. I don't think the CW guidelines will allow me discuss my feelings about the Tin Toy Co., I will stand mute instead.
The other Circus plane is the smaller P-40, a Hubley #761 first offered in '62 in silver/red. The Flying Circus Set #21216 came with one #495 and one P-40. I'm pretty sure the planes weren't offered individually with these colors and stickers. I don't have a source that specifies when the #21216 was available. But since the P-40 wasn't made until '62 and Hubley was sold to Gabriel in '66, logic says it was available from sometime between '62-'65. Note that the Flying Circus wing insignia is upside down. This is the super rare error version that is worth $10,000! Just kidding, I got it under $30 including shipping. I grade it in optimum Hubley condition. My Flying Circus is complete now and is in great collecting condition, I'm happy!.
The third photo shows the Flyimg Circus on the runway with the president in attendance. Make Air Shows great again! I now have an extra Circus #495. I don't ever sell anything but I'll possibly trade it for another Hubley item some day. It's in good shape, low mileage and was only flown to church on Sunday by a little old lady. A very sweet little old lady.

Got a fine Flying Circus Fleet. I know about the replacement pieces being a bit pricey. And speaking of de plane I have been to Fantasy Island, it's a neat place.
