mystery: who made these?

We got four of these cool chairs at a store called Space Control, in Palo Alto, back in 1987. I would dearly love to find a few more. Any ideas as to who made them? There were tags on the underside of the seats, and I think it was a Norwegian name, but they are long gone. The fabric on the seats was originally white wool. The wooden backs, we were told, are of stained ash.
