This clock is really big and heavy. It's made of solid brass with nice porcelain numbers and as it says in the title, it's made by Imperial and it's clock works are made by Franz Hermle. I can't remember the date on the clock mechanism but I want to say it was made in the 1970's or 1980's. These really are nice looking and appear to be antique but they are not. They wind with a key and ding on a bell in a high pitch sound. It's a nice clock if you don't care if it not an antique. I am keeping mine on top of my refrigerator until it becomes an antique.
That's it for sure! The lady that sold it to me got it from a family member and was looking to raise money to buy a pontoon boat. I don't think I was much help with the cost of the boat but I came out grateful.
Thanks.
Hi,
I have one of these clocks and was searching for some information about it. I've just had the movement / escapement repaired and was told it is a Hermle 80 130 070 but is no longer made. I searched the Hermle websites Germany and USA but didn't find any info re the clock itself but, having found your photos on the internet and having read your post on CW see that it is an 'Imperial' so will search for them. If you have any other info about this clock I'd appreciate it. Misc, one other thing, the clock does have matching candleabras, so it is part of a set.
Regards, Brennan
