New discovery yesterday, as I was researching my post about cloisonne designs, based on an old chromolithograph i owned for some time, which was drawn by Auguste Racinet, in Paris during mid 19th century and later.
He was famous for doing these compendiums of colored lithographs published in large series of valuable books with leather bindings. They would be offered in a series, he was so prolific and exact in his renditions of art designs, and the costumes from many places and cultures.
I had seen these books about the Art Nouveau movement, but not with this type of complete creative approach. I celebrate and am very grateful for what we can admire today. Due to the 100 year copyright law, these masterpieces are now considered 'public domain'.
Thank you Thomas.
And thank you for the loves Cw members.
