Hi knowledgeable Collectors
I have been told these 2 bone and wood articulated figure could be from Indonesia?
Has anyone come across anything like these before?
Would be great to find out the age of these, purpose and country made.
Hoping someone can share their wisdom ????
Thank you

They are Indonesian. Called Timor Tribal Figures
I had a pair of these bought new in the 1990's . I believe they still make them for tourists .
These are from the island of Lombok, which is east of Bali. I bought a male version in this style from an antique/tribal store on Lombok about 8 years ago. It’s made entirely from ebony (not bone) and I’d guess is older than these. The guy who sold it to me said these figures, which are always made as a couple, are especially connected to a famous temple on the north west coast of the island (the name of the temple escapes me). Possible that they make them for tourists now, but they are definitely originally a traditional item.
