autumn color in the backyard this afternoon

Well, technically in my neighbors' backyards I suppose, but pictured from my own shortly after noticing how brilliantly colored the big oak tree appeared in the bright midday sunshine out of my computer room window. In reality it is even more colorful than the pictures probably show, the direct sunshine having illuminated it as if it was in a spotlight and thus displaying an incredible variety of reds, oranges, and golden yellows, with tall green pine trees standing behind it. (and frankly, oak trees aren't usually nearly so dramatic?!)

I honestly do prefer the springtime than autumn in general, but gotta admit my backyard can be kinda pretty in the autumn too...hope y'all enjoy the view too, as least as much as these photos can show...? ;-) :-)
