Dear all,
I stumbled upon this piece two weeks ago, but still don't know what to think of it.
Does this lavish blanc de chine style teapot ring a bell with any of you?
Does it look authentic to you or would you judge it a reproduction/souvenir piece? Any thoughts?
Should you call this a teapot or wine pot? Or maybe something else? I haven't been able to find anything quite like it....
Please share your opinions; I would love to hear them. Thanks!
Have a nice tea,
Myra
Wow! How would one use it with all the applied pieces. Just picking up by handle would be a task, so I kind of wonder if this is just decoration and intended to use? I'm sure there are some others who might have seen one this highly decorated. I'll look around, sure others will jump in and help as well.
Thanks for the swift response, Dizzydave.
By the way, the pot measures 42 / 45 cm. No marks so far.
I've been into Antique for 35 yrs, never seen one this decorated!! Has to be something special?
https://www.pikview.com/dehua - have a look at this.
Apparently not an antique design - no such reference in the following ad on eBay:

A Fantasy Teapot is a term used here.
Wow...That is different
That is FABULOUS!
Wow what a find! I love finding unique pieces and solving a mystery. You have me stumped.
Any new information on the origin and value of this teapot?
