advertising tins from the kitchen shelf (#1)

Having noticed a few assorted potato chip cans being shown in recent days, I figured what the heck -- I've got some of those too (+ lots of other cans/tins/etc) on the shelf in the kitchen. So I got out the stepladder so's to take a few down (and dust 'em, never a bad thing for something in my house...) for pictures. :-)

This one is no doubt my favorite, so it gets to be #1. KITCHEN COOKED POTATO CHIPS are made in the tiny farm towns of Farmington and Bushnell, IL -- both very 'local' to where I actually grew up, and (at least until the age of the internets) only available regionally in west-central IL. Thus KITCHEN COOKED CHIPS were *always* a special treat at family and holiday dinners/events. (where someone other than my Mom, who didn't believe potato chips were 'healthy food' <groan> always brought a bag or three) Taste-wise they are TOTALLY unique amongst any other potato chips I've ever found anywhere else -- they are made with a "kettle cooked" process, but unlike literally *every other* so-identified variety of chips made by anybody else, have a completely different and very "light" texture to 'em, perfectly salty just as they should be but without being "greasy" in the slightest. I could then (and still can) eat half a bag or more at a time if somebody doesn't stop me (then) or I'm not paying attention... (now) <lol>

As far as the advertising can goes, I don't remember exactly how old it is but havta guess it came to me as a holiday gift (from Mom?) probably about 20yrs ago. I don't have any recollection of buying it myself anyway. (though I still do order a case of chips by mail once or twice a year if I don't otherwise get home) It is about 11-1/2" high and about 7" across and does have a little 'extra' logo on it indicating that it was part of a "3rd EDITION 1 of 10,000" series.
