This is the most stunning and emotional painting I've seen by Laszlo Kohanecz. A weathered sea captain contemplating his life on the sea, but he has no choice. It looks like he can come out of the painting and take you on one of his sea adventures.
I've seen another version of this in searching online, but it's a less weathered captain with less contemplation and sorrow in his eyes. The detail makes this one really stand out. His beard and hair are perfect.
