I found this modern Wedgwood Jasperware White on Turquoise vase in it's box, in a charity shop this morning. Turquoise is a rare Wedgwood colour and this is a big vase, so I bought it for £5.99. I think Wedgwood went into administration in 2009, and now a lot of Wedgwood is made in the Far East - Thailand and Indonesia, and this vase was made in Thailand, but the vase itself does not say where it was made, just the box, which I think is a bit sneaky, as if you don't have the box you don't know where it was made. The white relief doesn't have the quality of English made Jasperware - there is still a bit made here - like the Magnolia vase in picture 1, which is marked. I guess what I am trying to say is that if a piece Wedgwood Jasperware is not marked made in England, it is made in Thailand or Indonesia.

It's a gorgeous vase wherever made, the turquoise color & cameo images are lovely. Did not know Wedgwood went into admin & Far East production, so did Royal Doulton figurines as you probably know - yet they still produce quality pieces, I have several :)

Thank you Jenni. I think most of the big British pottery is now made in the Far East. I know a lot of Portmeirion comes from China now. I love the colour of the vase, I just think the definition of the white relief is missing. It was a bargain though!

      The sad legacy of Wedgwood.
It`s a shame. In the end even the European people will be made in Far East at less effort and cheap.
