#1598B Patented 1912 by Frank Matoushek of Witten, SD Patent #1,039,159. The 5 point star used in this design is a symbol of the inventors faith. It is known as the Epiphany star, and is also known as the Star of David. A great deal of symbolism was used in the design of early barbed wire.
