    Thanks to viewers this glass has been determined as a Shisha/Hookah glass.
    Original post:
    "I obtained this vase from the internet, last summer. I haven't seen it since.
    Does anybody recognize this type of decorated glass?
    I've checked bohemian cobalt blue vases, but this shape of bottle vase seems more Russian.
    The thick enamel and gold-gilt layer seems to imitate japanese/chinese cloisonné patterns.
    Any suggestions will be highly appreciated.
    Thank you for your interest!"

      IMO this is a glass part of shisa

      I think the enameling on this is great. It has a Middle Eastern look to the design. A lot of European glass was created specifically for that Middle Eastern market but a lot lot of glass was created in the Middle East as well. To me, this looks Turkish and (I'm not familiar with the term "shisa") is possibly the glass part of a hookah, or water pipe.

      The top does look like part of a hookah..google ‘hookah vases’ and you will quite a few in this shape..

      Shisha = water pipe=hookah.

      Thanks Ivonne. "Shisha" works better - I googled "shisa" and was pretty sure that wasn't what you were referring to. :+)

      That's it: a shihsa/hookah glass.
      Typical; I went to uni in A'dam and still don't recognize a shisha glass ;-)
      Should've discovered this website much earlier.
      Thanks, Ivonne, Inky, for the helpful feedback!

      Thank you as well, artfoot: highly appreciated!

      I agree that this is a Hookah base. I had one from Bohemia a couple hears ago, also in a blue glass.

      Yours looks radiant, Deano, due to the lighter blue tint; beauty!
