This unusual desk clock was assembled from scrap wood and aircraft plexiglass. Overall the piece is 14" long and about 5 1/2" tall.

An Army Air Corps aircraft clock has been set into the base and rotates around. A crew member wing has been applied above the clock.

The other section has wood and plexiglass that together form the early Army Air Corps aircraft roundel symbol.

When seen up close the wood and plastic shows appropriate age patina to confirm it dates from the early part of WW2.

This is just the type of thing that I would have expected to see in a stateside Army Air Corps training base office at the beginning of WW2.

Here is a photograph of a WW2 AAC soldier wearing the full sized wing on his shirt:

Thanks tlmbaran-- it is one of the more unusual desk items that I have in my trench art collection.

It is very well made and while it shows 70 years of age it is in excellent condition.

Scott, I know you appreciate wartime memorabilia. I told you earlier about cleaning an older (deceased) vet from WW2 and Korea. In his thing, I found several items that pertained to the Pan Mun Jom Joint Security Area. One of which is a Large paperweight. If I post same, could you tell me if it would be from that era or somehow , he acquired it some other time. Thanks Kerry

Sure kerry, post it-- I would be glad to help out.

Give me a heads up when you post it and I will take a look.
