This 8"L glass tiger aka panther was originally designed by Royal Hickman for Heisey ca 1949. The mold went to Imperial Glass in the late 50s, reissued in the 80s, then to Dalzell Viking in the 90s. This frosted yellow glass version is from the National Heisey Glass Museum in Newark Ohio ca 1990s (tag on bottom)
It's got the classic feline pose. Thanks for sharing another great cat!
MRRRRRWW! Great piece :-D
Nearly looks like a Sphinx in pics 2 and 3.
I love the color and satin glass!
He's lovely- His pose makes him look so sleek and feline. Kinda like a cheetah? He looks like he could be the guardian to some ancient temple lost deep in the steamy foliage of some Asian rainforests!
nice one! Fenton made a rosalene set of the Heisey animals, including this one, for HCA in 1992.
Looks like a huge gummy bear. The pineapple flavor that is yellowish clear/white.
I love it.
I'm with Kyra, very sphynx looking, beautiful !~
HCA acquired the molds c1985 and have contracted with various companies over the years to produce special pieces for the Heisey museum shop. Someone at HCA (Heisey Collector's of America) may be able to confirm who made this and when.
