Paper mache

I found this little guy very very dirty. I thought it was tin and porcelain. But started scrubbing it in the sink. and quickly found it was paper! As parts started to wash off. I was so disappointed with myself. But it was so dirty. I let dry. It's still quite cute to me. So i have hung it up where it's safe. But i was thinking it must be pretty old.
