Please help us identify this piece.
There are no markings at all, but definitely reupholstered. Found hay inside, and carving isn't neat. I don't know the type of wood.

The carving is done quite poorly overall. Too bad. There were many hundreds of traditional furniture manufacturers, but over 95% left no records. It all depends on what state and city you may have found it in. Normally on pieces like this the carving is done quite nicely.

The style is Rococo, popular in France in the middle of the 18th century. But is has been copied everywhere ever since. The hay inside is interesting. That speaks of some age.

There is nothing Rococo about this at all. Traditional carving.

Thank you for your responses and expertise. The wood appears to be very old, and worn. Also the underneath wood seems to be a different wood than the showing wood.
