I picked up this neat all aluminum folding trailer frame at a local flea market for $40. It was in rough shape . . . all the pins were frozen so it wouldn't fold, the bed, bumper and lights were missing, one of the plastic fenders was cracked, and the frame had a couple of cracks and notch cut out of it.

After cleaning the paint off the ID plate and doing a little research, I learned these trailers were made in France in the early 1980s and sold in the US by a company called Besco. After removing the tounge, the trailer folds up to about the size of a large suitcase and has a canvas carry strap. It originally came with a wire frame that held up a canvas bag to keep what you were hauling secure and dry. They were excelent trailers for small cars like VW Beetles and for motorcycles.

I'm slowly restoring it back to a somewhat original condition. I've had the cracks welded, gotten all the pins free and had a new aluminum floor cut out for it. I still have to have a bumper fabricated, install some lights, then try to fabricate a frame and bag for it.

We have one of these trailers too. Trying to find instructions on how to fold it up. Does anyone know where I could get instructions?

It's pretty easy to fold IF the pins are not stuck. Mine is currently burried under a bunch of junk in my garage, but I think I have some pictures of it somewhere that show how to fold it.

Thanks. We are going to try to fold it up this weekend. If we can't figure it out, I'll comment back and see if you found your pictures.

I bought one of these but need the fenders. I also need one tail light lens. Mine has the canvas and frame thankfully!
