I have had this bottle for many years. I have had it displayed in my house for at least 25 years and when people ask me what it is I still can not say. I love the look and would like to know more about it. Look at the bottom, doe's it not look to be hand blown? Thanks

that is handmade from Spain and I happen to have 4 of them. I know they are all wine decanters and also all brown glass. I am not sure of the year of them..Im trying to find that out myself. They all have very unique designs created on them as well.

Okay.. if you have one of these...I found out more info. If you look on Google under leather wrapped wine decanters..you will see them over and over again, along with the Italian leather wrapped decanters. They actually come from Mid evil times. Alot of them have faces and the name Sancho on them..very interesting.

The name for this decanter is porrón. They are traditional wine decanters you drink straight from. They could be plain glas or leather wrapped. For the look of this one I'd say it comes from the 60s/70s (there was some kind of a boom for traditional Spanish stuff in the 60s... I remember that kind of decoration in the seaside flats my parents rented for our Summer holidays in the early 70s) as these porrones were popular souvenirs amongst tourist visiting Spain.

haha, I hadn't read collectort's last comment... aving the faceand name of Sanchoin them absolutely makes it so 60s! Sancho Panza is the second character in Don Quijote... so here you have a great Souvenir of Spain :)
