Not that I needed another one, but still a nice addition to my sterling collection: A Canadian made vintage bangle. It is in very good vintage condition. It is one inch wide and has a weight of 45 grams. Most of the bangles in the last photos have been purchased at the cost of the melting value of silver. I guess this is because this kind of jewelry is no longer in style. The bangles still look great when I wear a few together and match them up with my other engraved sterling brooches and lockets.
The bracelets are mostly made in Canada, but there are some English, Italian, and some unknown ones among them.
The one I posted today is by Burkhardt, a Canadian Manufacturer often associated with Birks. I have not been able to confirm this connection, but I read somewhere that Burkhardt was bought by Birks. I found this trademark information on an official Canadian site, but there is no mentioning of Birks: http://www.ic.gc.ca/app/opic-cipo/trdmrks/srch/viewTrademark.html?id=221441&lang=eng
I guess I will have to do a bit more research.
Thanks for looking:)
Stunning bracelet collection, the different engravings are really gorgeous
Thanks so much for your comment, Newfld. I found a nice little display stand recently so they will find a good spot to be displayed, rather than sitting in a box. The thing with silver is that they have to be polished from time to time if I don't wear them and I usually only wear my big and durable pieces because I am a bit clumsy:)
