So I came across this urn/vase. At first look the hardware says late 19th early 20th repro. The crossed arrows hallmark shows on kovels as 1771 France La Courtille, factory.i am not versed in any porcelain other than Limoges. Any help would be great. In the last picture, there is what looks like the faintest signature that reads “ Henry”
Rococo inspired, but new as the "made in ..." reveals.
Ah. I should have known.
Yes, a newer one. These marks were faked as is already in the 1850's. The orange colour is a sign also of newer, first time I have ever seen that colour. There are some other little style changes that tell me that it is newer. The one I have is late 19'th century ! Even the newer ones were not cheap to produce ~
I'm curious as I usually run across pieces where the MAN mark is baked into glaze. This one is almost like a grease pencil.
The mark itself looks like many that I have seen. There is a book on Sevres which shows a lot of these marks also.
