I just finished restoring this 1975 Husqvarna 400WR retro to run in both vintage and post vintage classes in AHRMA. Loaded with tricks and trick one-off parts lightened significantly. 16 lbs. lighter with well over 10 hp added. Everything new ground up. Two sets of wheels, two sets of forks, two sets of shocks and two precisely jetted Bing carburetors, the original 36 and a 38mm for post vintage class.

What can i say to do it justice, besides, Bitchen, Beautiful, and A Work of Art!
You did a fantastic job of keeping this old classic alive ! I started riding in San Diego, in 67, and you had to have big bucks to ride a Huskie. So, i rode a Bultaco 250 Persang, and a TM-250 Suzuki. Great Fun For Many Years! Bike names that i doubt the youngins will recognize, like, Hodaka, Montessa, Maico , to name a few. Thanks for posting this old Beauty, and Congratulations to You for owning it.

Thanks, well appreciated from both. I too raced MX back in that era from 71 to 74. My first racer was a 71 Pursang 250 which proved to be too much bike for me. I sold it and purchased a 72 Husky 125cr where I earned the #5 plate in District 37 So. Cal. Both we're used as I couldnt afford anything new I was still in highschool but that was the last time I threw a leg over a dirt bike until now. This 400 was actually given to me by a friend. It was in pretty good shape and unmolested but sat for many years I was truly lucky to receive it. It brought back some of the best memories of my life so you can see why I went overboard on the restoration. It was so much fun I aquired two others, a 1976 Maico 250aw and a 1977 Montesa 250 VB. I doubt I'll race them, just nice to look at and visit those days again

Back in '74 a couple of my buddies rode the Huskies (great bikes)....I rode a 1974 Honda Elsinore CR 125M. It was plenty of bike for me as I was a lightweight back then. Wish I still had it :)
