Artpot
(32 items)
Backstamp tends to indicate an early piece. Piece measures 4 1/4" tall X 3 1/2" diameter at base. Pottery was started by David Gil (David Goldfarb) in Bennington, VT in 1948 soon after his graduation from the School of Ceramic Design at Alfred University (NY).
There are two indentations, not openings, on opposite sides of the piece. (Both are shown). They are part of the design.
The design may have served as the basis for George Fong Chow's (1923-2012) "Eye of God" series for Glidden Pottery a few years later.
