I've had the one on the RH side with applied silver (not polished for these pics, but I did polish it once when I first got it) band around its top for 25+yrs, having found it loose in a junk shop somewhere and then making the plywood stand/holder for it myself.

The one on the LH side is a recent Goodwill recovery, because it reminded me of the other one I already had. ;-) :-)

Looking around online to try to find out what these things are actually called lead me not only to the 'yard/half yard of beer' definition, but to the *same exact* item as my GW example, as currently listed on Amazon.com. [I didn't pay *nearly* that much for it, BTW... ;-) ]

And I guess that gives me my answer, at least as to what these glasses actually are. Frankly I've never been a 'beer drinker' (much less 'beer aficionado') so wasn't familiar with the term(s) -- all I knew was that it/they were something supposed to be used for drinking beer, probably in quick quantity... <eeek!>

No maker's markings on either, both are approx. 18" h x 4.5" across and of relatively thin clear (blown?) glass, but my older one has a much thicker base and better finished top edge, suggesting (with its silver plated accent) it was originally of somewhat higher quality...?

What ! You don't drink beer ! Time to start ! I guess you know from your search, that these were made long so a coach driver (etc.) didn't have to climb down to reach it. Bet they had to climb down soon after !
