just curious about its origin
is it Native Amercan?
parrot? is that used in Native american jewelry
It is a nice piece but... I have never seen a parrot used in Native American jewelry. It's a bolo tie for sure. And it could be pewter. It has the look of the Zuni but because it has no markings, by law you can not describe it as N.A. There are so many artisans making jewelry now, maybe it's made by one of them. As far as sterling, you can take it to your local jeweler and ask them to test it. Is it super heavy? If yes, it could be nickel silver or pewter. You won't really know until it's tested. Have you looked under the area where the leather is attached? You may still find some kind of mark there. Sometimes they get hidden and hard to find.
