hi guys -- just wanted to wish you all a happy holiday -- so i used maybelle and the beach kids as an excuse -- maybelle & the kids are one of the the most rarest of the florence ceramic figurines and both rarely seen -- it would appear that they have set the bar for price -- doug foland got the beach kids -- he was out of town on christmas vacation -- so i sniped them for him -- he called and said we did not win them and i said oh yes you did doug -- you bleed threw the nose but they are yours and so they should be as he started the fire with the 1st book on florence ceramics

Beautiful figurines, the lady with basket is lovely and the beach kids in vintage clothing are charming
thank you newfld -- interesting on that glaze that florence used on the beach kids -- in natural day light they are a rich deep brown in other lighting they show purple -- it is like the optic glass that i have on some of my glassware -- guess it is a go figure this one out -- here is an interest brain teaser -- do you know what a dead mans hand is in poker -- i did not -- but it involves wild bill hickok -- when he was shot in the back of the head he was holding 2 black aces and 2 black eights and the queen of hearts -- which his family says the queen still has his blood on the card -- they perhaps need to do a DNA test -- but it got me to do some learning and ordered the book via amazon wild bill hickok: the prince of pistoleers -- i am an avid reader so will look forward to that book coming in -- my husband and i always play kings in the corner with the old farts as i call them at peets coffee shop
