One of the longstanding trademarks of CROWN ROYAL (blended Canadian whisky) is that every distinctively shaped bottle (large or small) comes in a 'gift box', nestled into a gold embroidered purple (usually) drawstring velvet bag. While that's no doubt been a successful 'marketing strategy' for them (I guess, despite whatever extra manufacturing costs must be involved?) I can tell ya -- as a former part-time liquor store employee -- you'd likely be surprised at how many of those bags/boxes *don't* ever actually make it out of the store. Lots of folks, it seems, just want their bottle in the obligatory brown paper bag instead. Go figure.
BUT ANYWAY. Whadda 'ya do after accumulating several (of the big) bagsful of those surplus bags? Why, you hang yourself a goldtone curtain rod over the bathroom window (where purple is already an 'accent color') then string/tie them all to it, instead of some boring 'curtain'...?!! ;-) :-) :-)
For the record, they're all typical Crown bags (of whatever size) but for the orange and green ones (which come with rather recent 'flavored' varieties of Crown) and the little 50ml size in the center -- those are also typical, just not quite as common. The 50ml size is the only one of them all which didn't actually also come in a box.
I thought I was special. I have a few of those Crown Royal "velvet" bags.
Happy New Year
They are well made bags & handy. I keep blunderbuss shot in 1 & old coins in 2 others.
