Craig Orkney recently uploaded comparison Welz Trophy vases and this particular shape was one of them. This one measures 7" tall exactly with a 3 1/8" base. I uploaded the information on this vase in the Facebook "FRANZ WELZ Art Glass Collectors" site and I recopy the description here.
There are Welz Trophy Vases then there are special Welz Trophy Vases.....this one falls into the latter category. We often see delicate gilding and enamelled flowers on Welz vases but this one has it all and then more. There is thick gilding around the pedestal in a geometric ""spearhead" design, gold around the trophy base itself and there is a gold shield on the trophy itself. Fine gold lines highlight each crevice, the rim, the handles and the rigaree below the handles. There are enamelled flowers and foliage over the gold and tiny red jewels inside of a cloverleaf design on the shield. All this on a variegated yellow and white spatter with a solid yellow interior. The designs repeat on both sides.
One of my favorite welz shapes. Love the "extras" on your example-- really sets it apart.
