This is proving to be the most difficult item I have ever researched, please anyone who has seen Val Kill Industries items, Elderly couple bought it in 1969, they were told it came the FDR estate, found Val Kill industries, found a ER monogrammed spoon,it was wedged in a drawer, waiting on Christies, they had ER monogrammed silver at this auction, critics check out the frame, that's a Val kill desk, I believe made at the shop for the main house Springwood, yes the only marble topped piece know to exist by Val Kill Industries, museum is closed now, love to hear from anyone with any knowledge, I have a ton of photos and emails, hundreds of hours of research, but I know the old couple were right, they just didn't know about Val kill Industries. Please any advice....
There's old ad photos online, three door three drawer, two shelves, there's a secretaire with identical add on scrolls on the bottom, found pencil marks, letters and a few numbers, no Val kill stamp, no workers stamp,
Got lucky on Wednesday, I made contact with Nina Roosevelt, granddaughter of FDR and ER, she's going to show photos of my cabinet to relatives soon, she's convinced I am right, awesome week!
Found out Eleanor had pieces built for the White House, finally makes sense, the foliage is the railing, the east wing pillars, and the steel gate are all on the White House, Nancy Cook used the White House for the inspiration ,waiting on the White House and the FDR library for photos....
