Large antique anchor pendant, flea market find. I have it for some time now.
The pendant is 8 cm ( 3,15 ") high and 4,5 cm ( 1,77 ") wide. The metal part is painted black. Not sure about the medaillon part, maybe some kind of ceramics. Or some kind of early plastic, but it is a little bit too cold. What appears to be 3 tiny black "rhinestones" above are actully not rhinestones, but a part of the metal. It think they are masked rivets.
The only time I have met with this black painting was with victorian jewelry. Could this be victorian, or maybe early 20th century? Maybe a detachable part of a bigger necklace?
I would be very thankful for your opinions!
Take a look at "anchor cameo pendants" on EBay and Etsy. That may help.
Absolutely beautiful antique raised anchor cameo design, I love the setting, excellent find
Thank you a lot for your info and love, Watchsearcher, Newfld, valentino97!
The detail is wonderful on this beaute !~
Thank you PhilDMorris!
It's very unusual, rather than a woman's silhouette in it it's got an anchor which I love, both very maritime and feminine which is a combination that you don't often see.
Thank you LaurenRedmond, I agree!
