Vintage Strombecker Wood Recognition Model Boeing B-17E Prototype

Here is a Strombecker B-17E Recognition Model that was originally finished by Boeing staff as the B-17E Prototype. By museum request, it was requested to be overhauled for display. It did have some upgrades from being just a plain satin black model. They added prop disks, engine decals, paint work with additional markings and "glass" imaging along with a maple display stand. To enhance the presentation, we secured various pieces of period literature that reflected this specific design prototype including two magazine covers and two period postcards. The pictures show the model almost ready for display.
