ORIGINAL TIN EMBOSSED ADVERTISING SIGN FOR SODA POP .... COSTA BEVERAGES "treat yourself.... drink"
Bill Costa, started his bottling business in 1946, in Newburgh, NY on Spring Street, along the Hudson River with his two brothers. As they grew, the business moved to a new larger plant in the 1950's on Lake Street in Newburgh. All across the Mid-Hudson, Costa Beverages competed for 42 years against Coke & Pepsi for shelf space. Those who grew up in the area may remember the green Costa vending machines!! The business folded in 1988, as the Soda giants were too much competition!
Great piece of memorabilia and a sign of the times that all that is left of a small local business is a rusty, but still glossy happy advertising sign!
Happy to add one I've never seen!
Cheers
