This doll was passed down in my family but I don’t know if it’s worth anything or exactly what time period she’s from. She is 21”, has blue eyes and has the Anne Shirley mark on her back but it isn’t as “perfect” stamp as others I’ve seen. She looks to be composite and has some of that cracking her in her face. She does have a broken finger which we still have (someone taped it on her).
I can’t seem to find online another’s Shirley with her similar hair or outfit.
Is she worth anything or do I just hold on to her?
Your Ann Shirley is made of composition . She has a replaced wig and dress so you won't find one like her because of that . She has lost much value because of no original wig or clothes . Her stamp is fine and as moulds were used over and over the mark would get fainter until they threw that one out and replaced it . She has a lot of fine crazing on face also .
Thanks @Manikin. Sounds like not really worth trying to put up for sell? Probably either just donate it or hold on to it for our kids which I’m not sure makes sense.
There are still collectors for her that would restore her :-)
I don't restore dolls but when I find one in need of TLC I buy her. I then list her on my Etsy site for a reasonable price, knowing that someone out there will buy her, restore her and keep her out of a landfill. AND I've made some doll collector happy!
