Vaseline Vanity jar?

This beautiful jar has a black glass top with 2 small holes that hold something and 2 cradle like spots for lipstick? or cigarettes? There is a larger hole in the center that I think would be used at the vanity for hair? The glass texture on the outside is smooth but the inside has a quilted texture. The only reason I know the black top is glass is because there is a tiny chip on the corner of one of the cradles and there it has a bright shine like glass. The jar measures 5" wide and 2 1/4" tall.
