I Recently Came Across - This Odd Looking Old Chest Of Drawers .
Problem With Sticking Drawers + 2 Broken / Missing Handles .
I Liked The Different Look + Nice Cabinet + They Were Not Asking A Lot For It .
On The Back Of The Chest - There Was What I Thought Was A Small Moving Sticker .
It Was Actually A Shipping Sticker From An Antique Dealer .
Wondering Where They Were Located - I Searched The Name :
" L. J. Roberton LTD " - ( ANT / SALE - 3341C?? - 01-519-2020 )
Not Much Showed Up - It Looks Like They Are No Longer Around .
What Did Show Up - Was An Old Advertisement In A 1980 Antiques Magazine .
This Chest Was Actually Shipped From England .
It Would Be Interesting To Know The Shipping History To It .
Like How Long Ago - What Year ? - Was This Shipped To The U.S. ? .
very cool!!
AMAZING Deco dresser!!

During the 70's and 80's for example a lot of dealers (long before the computer age)
were bringing in containers of antiques for sale and you would see rounded tops on chests and china cabinets in their lots. Sometimes Canadian or U.S. dealers went to england and arranged the shipment while they were in England. In some antique books such as Millers, there are many advertisements of dealers who specialize in containers picked for you or to your specifications. I was very excited to see these being brought in as they even brought statues in. Here are some English cabinets for you to view :
