My step-daughter gave this to me formChrostmas a few years back. I love i and am fascinated by it. I did some research and different websites indicate different names. I can’t find any markings and was wondering if anyone has any knowledge about the piece? Thank you in advance for looking and any insight into it!

don't know about the metal parts, but the glass is the Heirloom pattern by Indiana
Glass c1970s, and the color is Sunset Carnival

Could it be a fountain? It's certainly a centre piece!

I thought it was a carnival glass pedestal compote. I'm sure not a seasoned composter guy or anything though.

similar metal holders were used with "brides' baskets" in the Victorian era. My guess is this was a more modern interpretation of that idea. Would work nicely as a centerpiece for fruit or floral arrangements.
