I’ve had this desk for 30 years. It belonged to my great-grandmother who gave it to me as a gift for high marks in grade school. I have done a lot of research over the years and cannot seem to find another like it.

It has a “Bekins Van and Storage” tag stapled on the back with a lot and piece number on the back. The only other marking I can find is on the bottom with the letters LES.

Was wondering if anyone had any information on my lovely desk?

    Thank you for looking!

It looks like the kind of Norwegian furniture I remember some new shops setting up and bringing containers in during the 1990's. Apparently a lot of it was made during the 50's to 70's and I just loved a lot of it. A very nice piece,

I tend to agree with Phil. I base that on the shelf supports, they are quite modern from what I see in photo #1

The Bekins tag just shows that it was transported by the Bekins moving company at some point, maybe when the family moved.

Thank you all for the information!

@fhrjr2 - I only have one of the original shelves, so I had new ones made to size. It is not in the photo as not to have mismatched shelves LOL. My great-grandma gave it to me in 1988 after sitting in her garage as it didn’t match with her decor. My family always said it was ugly, but I’ve always loved it!
