READ THIS COMPLETELY INCLUDING THE TRUE PERSONAL STORY AT THE END.
Here are some songs that EVERYONE should know.
Raiders- Indian Reservation (The Lament Of The Cherokee Reservation Indian) *SEE LYRICS BELOW*
The Marmalade- Reflections Of My Life
    Bread- Make It With You
B.J. Thomas- Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head

I personally have loved the Cherokee song since I first heard it as a kid. My family always said that we have a lot of Native American blood. I was always proud of my Native American heritage and excused many of my actions based on my Native family history.
Well, I did my dna testing with 23&me and Ancestry and now I see who I really am. I'm 99.2% European and .7% Native American, so I have to rethink this behavior of mine. Maybe I am like this because I'm British, Irish, German and French?
I still love my Native American brothers and sisters, just as if they were my biological family.
Oh, BTW my baby son in my profile photo is 50% Native American (South American, Peruvian)

    LYRICS-
They took the whole Cherokee nation
    Put us on this reservation
Took away our ways of life
The tomahawk and the bow and knife
    Took away our native tongue
And taught their English to our young
And all the beads we made by hand
    Are nowadays made in Japan
    Cherokee people
    Cherokee tribe
    So proud to live
    So proud to die
They took the whole Indian nation
    Locked us on this reservation
Though I wear a shirt and tie
I'm still part redman deep inside
    Cherokee people
    Cherokee tribe
    So proud to live
    So proud to die
But maybe someday when they learn
Cherokee nation will return, will return
Will return, will return, will return

Now let me tell you a very weird and true story......
Back in the early 1980's when I was 16 years old, my buddy and I decided to drive his old Chevy van to the beach at night from Houston to Galveston Beach. On the way to the beach down a dark road while we were discussing the differences in our religious beliefs, a big wolf ran out in the road directly in front of us. The wolf stopped and looked at us and my friend hit his brakes to avoid running over the wolf. As he slammed on his brakes and while we were totally focused on the wolf, the wolf completely VANISHED! It did not run away but vanished in the middle of the road. We still get bumps all down our arms when we talk about it. We did not drink alcohol and never did drugs.
Let me tell you that we did drive around a very bad multi auto accident at an intersection near the beach and the cars (with people still in them) looked like they were totaled and the accident had just happened, just before we got to it. We did slow down because of the wolf and we immediately knew that accident must have been the reason for the vanishing wolf, slowing us down. Keep in mind, seeing a big wolf near Houston is like seeing a bear in Houston.
One lady that I told about this incident told me that it was to do with a protective Native American Spirit that saved us.
I believe in my savior Jesus Christ and angels that protect me but who knows how they do it. I still don't know what happened but it sure looked like something that the Native American people talk about.

Thank you so much for the heads up. I purchased a big box of these records for less than $20. and found so many good records but I don't even know what to look for and that is why I posted some of them. You gave me just what I needed.
      Thanks again.

This was so much different than the early Raiders' stuff. I had an argument with some friends when it played on a station in the 80's that it was the Raiders. We had to call the station to settle it. I'm glad you posted the fantastic lyrics also.
