Has anyone ever seen a powder compact like this? I found this when I was cleaning out my parents home. I believe it was probably one of my great grandmothers.

Very cool western design, love the horseshoe shape - nice post, and great family treasure

The design: young lady in wide-brimmed hat, pistol, long skirt with fancy trim, horse, etc, make me think of Annie Oakley, the famous sharp shooter who was a sensation around the 1880s into early 1900s.
Is there anything on the back or inside the compact to give any clues?

Nothing on the back. The back is like leather or cloth. Maybe it is a coin purse. Bit there is a round deal inside that makes me think it was a mirror. There is some lettering at the top of this picture. Maybe patapldfor or hataradfor.

Thank you for the Annie Oakley idea. I did find it. It is a 1915 Annie Oakley coin purse.

      That's fantastic!
I wish you would post a follow-up with pictures of the inside and the back, the hinges and closure mechanism.
Most women didn't carry a pistol in such a conspicuous manner or wear fancy trim on their skirts when dealing with horses so I thought it must be Annie Oakley.

      Thanks!
I understand why it could be mistaken for a compact. I wonder if a silver dollar would fit in the round metal part?
