One of my daughters' birthday is in January and her birthstone is the garnet. I bought already a few pieces of garnet jewellery for her and she loves them. Today, I found this 1 inch pendant. It is in very good condition, all stones are there, and all it needs is a good cleaning. Well, that's what I thought. After a closer look, I think that this might have started its life as the drop in a garnet necklace. I think so because the bale of the pendant is just a ring.
My question is now: What kind of bale should I put on it in order to keep within the style of the piece of jewellery? I could put it on an chain as it is but I am not sure if this would look nice.
Thanks for looking:)

MALKEY, thanks so much for your comment. I have found some amethysts many years ago. I keep looking whenever I get a chance - but no luck!
Have a great day; we are waiting for a snow storm. I can't say I like the winter:(
I think it looks fine as is. I don’t think the bale detracts from the pendant :)
Many thanks for your input, Mrstyndall:)
Hi freiheit,
I commented to another "garnet" poster recently, that Bohemian Garnets made me drool - sigh. I went on a Pinterest board covered in beautiful piece after beautiful piece. I read your post and oh my, oh my! Your pendant is as beautiful as any one of them.
I don't know how you would feel about putting a bail on yourself, but they do sell all kinds on eBay: (of course many sites you could look at about bails as well) Would need to get one that is the same metal colour as yours is.

Also, you could look at other pendants, (eBay, Etsy, Ruby Lane etc.) and look at the bohemian pendants there and, check out the bails. I'm not sure if the jump ring you have would support the pendant.
The other thing to do is take it to a jeweler who might give you some advice.
Whatever your decide to do, your piece is very, very lovely.
(Been snowing here since this morning, and doesn't look as though it will stop any time soon.)
Gillian, thanks so much for your comment. It has been snowing here, too, and it will keep snowing for some time. But this is fine because it gives me a chance to catch up with some things I wanted to do for a long time.
I appreciate your information and link. I will certainly check it out. At the very least I will have to have the little ring soldered because otherwise the pendant could get lost.
Thanks for your idea, Mary. I bought my daughter one of those garnet strands some time ago. It never crossed my mind to combine them. Great idea!
Thanks so much for loving my pendant,
Hel1 loves this.
