Unfortunately the knife on this set was separated in the middle from the blade to the handle. I went to my local jeweller and asked if he could solver the blade and handle together, to be honest I knew the answer would be no because the soldering would melt the enamel.
So my second solution was to made it into a pendant, I think it looks really nice and still has Bernard Instone cleanly engraved. This set was probably made around 1926 - 1930. Sorry about the photo of the set, it’s not good it’s the only photo I have of it as it’s in the UK.
Many thanks for looking
Truly beautiful floral design
Thank you Newfld, it’s nice to be back. I hope your well. :-))
Really nice- reminds me of some colours you'd see on jewellery pieces!
Thank you LaurenRemond. Bernard Instone does use a lot of enamel in his jewellery. This type of enamelling tends to be on knifes, forks, spoons and I have the same enamelling on a napkin holder. I’ve also seen this design on caddy spoons and a tea strainer.
Many thanks
