Hi, I was recently shopping at goodwill and came across this beautiful camel back steamer trunk that has been mostly restored inside very clean and no musty smell only need new leather handles and maybe a tray made for the inside I would love to get a tray or make a tray and cedar line the tray it I think I will leave the wall paper as it’s in great shape this Trunk had no price so I ask and when she told me only $10. I would love to get any more infor about this trunk Andy Or any suggestion you may have about how I should go about a shelf/cedar lining the tray thanks

Just so you know Tangoes, this is not a steamer trunk, this is a travel trunk, judging by the front latches I would say from around early 1900's or so, you need to get a square wood rod half by half inch or so, by 36 inch from Lowe's or Menard's, cut to fit, put two on the inside ends for tray to sit on, make your tray about 1/8 to 1/4 inch smaller then the inside measurement all the way around, make your tray 3 to 4 inches deep, mount your rails so that your tray is about 1/8 inch below the edge of the trunk box, make sure rails are level front to back and across the width of the trunk. greendog.
