We are particularly proud to add this 221K4 to our collection of Singers “Century of Sewing Service 1851-1951” collection. It’s an outstanding example of a British made Featherweight destined for France - See the French inscription “Fabrique en Bretagne” on the back of the hozizontal arm. Note” the lamp switch is on the lamp itself signifying a 221K4 & that the owners manual is also in French.
We strive to locate and find the history of our machines when at all possible and this machine offered even more. We purchased it from the grand-daughter of the original owner in Mulhausen, France. This same grand-daughter remembers watching her Grandma sew on it while she was allowed to draw a picture on the corrugated cardboard oil catcher in the bottom of the case! It’s a precious “Van Gogh” to us! A “Special” 221!
