    there is a mark on the on - off switch which is the letter D with an arrow through the middle of it horizontally. Any info would be appreciated.

      It looks sorta 1930's-ish to me (+/- a decade) by style. The "D" logo on its switch handle (s?) is probably more an indication of the maker of the sockets themselves, not so much the fixture they're installed in...it'd be helpful to see a better pic of the socket(s) or logo(s) to identify that.

      Could it be a D in square, for Square D electronics?
      It does look like the 1930s, maybe early side.
