Lucky Killarney Cat

This little black cat was spotted today in a visit to a charity shop. She's just some rather cheap but also very unusual souvenir from Killarney, Co. Kerry, Ireland- evidenced by the gold 'Killarney' band around her neck. What drew me to her was her sweet little face that's looking up and to the side, like she's just heard someone opening a can of cat food for her and I do love these little elongated cat figurines.
As for the reason it's a black cat, according to some lore from Killarney if you see a black cat you will be lucky.
Interesting to note are several other interesting pieces of lore from the area such as if the palm of your hand is itchy money is coming to you, if a scissors falls on the floor you will get a disappointment, if your nose is itchy, it is a sign that someone is talking bad about you and if you spill salt on the table you will have a fight!
