As we are having a rather large snow storm here I figured this would be appropriate. Plus it features real snow from the snow storm. This is some super heavy snow like very finely shaved ice I call it sand snow. No wonder I had so much trouble getting in my driveway.
On to the Matchbox model. This is the Scammel Snow Plough or in the US a plow. The bed is a tipper, this would be filled with grit aka cinders that would be dumped as it plowed. I need some cinders. Back to the model it was introduced in 1963 and sold through 1968. That is a good run for a Matchbox model. I will need the 1:1 version tomorrow.
Special guest appearance by the Snow Trac Tractor in the last photo. I may need a 1:1 version of that tomorrow too.
Fantastic snow plow model, so realistic it gives me chills as we are mid winter here on the East coast, but so far groundhog prediction is holding out - hope you don't get many more snowstorms fort
Nice 'Boxes again. Perfect timing for sharing, you even have scale/shaved snow. I admire your control of the elements to make this possible. Love the striped blade especially. I remember seeing the Sno-Trac in the comic book ads. I think it must of been a early entry in the Matchboxe line in the US. Before you invest in a full scale plow, you should at least try using these. Might be a little more time consuming, but you never know until you try. The Simpson's episode where Homer bought a snow plow was on just last night, what timing Apache!
Love it in images, but not on the driveway....lol
Thank you very much Newfld. The plow just came by and the snow should be just about finished for now.
Thank you very much Toyrebel. I just saw one of those old ads with the snow plough in it. I am going to have to use a shovel since my snow blower won't work. That and some salt. That snow is super heavy. Melts almost half its height in water.
Thank you very much truthordare. Time now to battle the snow in the driveway.
Well that was a nightmare but I got through it. Hopefully I don't have to dig my car out again tomorrow.
