FIRST OFF: I don't really know *squat* about jewelry in general, ladies' jewelry in particular. ANY INPUT from ANYONE about these is welcomed and will be greatly appreciated!! And now that we've got that outta the way... ;-) :-)
This pair of earrings has been made from copper and silver wire which has been rather intricately twisted into various shapes. The 'main' piece of each is a triangle-ish shape of copper, the top ends of each side fastened with round copper loops to another small twisty copper piece that holds the silver ear hook, as well as a small triangular twisted silver dangle hanging in the middle of everything. Both lower corners and the middle of the bottom feature small coiled silver dangles, the center one also having a small red plastic (?) bead on a copper holder. They are a little over an inch wide and about 2" long.
NO IDEA who made them, when, nor where -- but for some reason I've always imagined they're the kind of thing made/sold by an artisan/craftsman (maybe even 'before your eyes, as you watch'?) at street fairs/festivals/etc. They just have a wonderfully 'imperfect symmetry' about 'em that fairly screams "handmade" to me...??
Frankly I also don't really remember when/where I got them though I'm reasonably certain it was somewhere 'for free', as I'm quite certain I'm a guy thus they'd likely look *really strange* on me if I wore them...? <LOL> Instead, they usually just hang from my desk lamp (or somewhere, from something) simply because I like 'em...?? ;-) :-) :-)
THANKS to fortapache, Newfld, & Brunswick for sharing the <love it>s!! I'd STILL love to learn/hear from anybody who might have ever seen something like these anywhere else -- even if they're officially "tacky" (?) in terms of jewelry (??) I think I've gotta admire the creativity/patience/skills of whoever made them in the first place... :-)
[also for the record, I do actually wear earrings 24/7, but they're otherwise pretty typical surgical stainless 'body piercing' jewelry, instead of anything so decorative/dangly like these things are...??]
MORE THANKS to: Vynil33rpm, valentino97, Ms.CrystalShip, & aura for your kind comments and <love it>s!
Its an interesting thought that they could be as old as the 70's...I'm not sure I'd have guessed that. [though 'what do I really know'? nothing... <lol>] I *still* can't recall exactly when/where I got them other than that I don't think I ever actually *bought* them -- 'found them while helping friends clean out a rent house years ago' is my best guess. I *do* remember that they were slightly deranged when I first got 'em and needed a little minor 're-bending', they also got a quick rub with silver polish before the pics here. THAT turns out to have been a slightly challenging task to accomplish without doing any more damage to 'em -- all those tiny little bits of soft twisty metal and all... <groan><lol>
