It was early in the Second World War, and this is a 1942 wedding party for the couple (third and fourth seated from the left).
The shell shocked couple need not have worried because their marriage lasted for sixty years. The uniformed soldier,
actually an officer, was killed later in the war fighting for the Allies. His fiance to his left, was able to recover, and found some
one else to marry. Sad.
